ACS Cobham High School Tutoring
A teacher may recommend private tutoring after a student has attended extra help sessions or if there are gaps in the student’s knowledge/skills that need remediation. Some ACS teachers provide private tutoring during non-school hours (before 8:30am or after 3:30pm) and we provide the opportunity for their tutoring to take place on-campus. This is an arrangement between parents and the tutor for scheduling, rate and payment. ACS is not involved in processing fees for this activity.
In order to protect all parties involved, tutors may not be one of your child’s current teachers. Please feel free to contact these other members of faculty directly and inquire as to availability.
If you decide to use an ACS faculty member as a private tutor, please complete the Tutoring form and give to the classroom teacher and the tutor. The tutor is responsible for submitting the completed form to the high school office administrative assistant to keep on file.
Private tutors who are not current ACS faculty members may not meet with students on-campus unless they have first applied for and received written approval from the high school principal for the tutoring schedule and location.
